I got round to watching this last night - oh dear. The great thing about the previous films was the integration of a semi-plausible plot and a fantastical plot to reflect the life of an archeologist who spends time in the office and then goes away to far off lands to look at something in the mud. This film was hopelessly ridiculous in its entirety and did not carry on the magical adventure characteristics of its predecessors, why? - because it plagiarized them to with an inch of their lives, I hardly saw any new ideas just a whole pile of poorly executed CGI. Just 'avin a boo.

Agreed. If you watch 'Raiders....' then watch '....Skull', you realise just how bad it is. Cartoonish action sequences. Lack of real thrills. God-awful story. etc. etc.

Why can't they just leave things well alone.

"Here. Here's millions of dollars, go out and EDITED yourself for a fat paycheck. Rape the memory of all that's good in cinema, after all, it's all about the MONEY!!"

Spielberg's lost it IMO.

Of course he's lost it. Like he lost half of the frames to 'Saving Private Ryan' making it in headache inducing jerky vision.

How will that translate to BD at 24fps?

Ah but he did make Minority Report and Munich between the two and they weren't too bad for the worlds No.1 family director. It's just when you apply money and age to something which worked very well twenty years ago that things go awry. Do these people get less wise with age or more greedy (or both)?

I think you guys should adopt my system for dealing with these things...

There were only ever two sequels to Alien.
The fourth Indiana Jones is an urban legend.
George Lucas died in a fiery place crash on the moon, (the only scripts for episodes one through three were lost in the crash as well).
The Matrix was an awesome movie that unfortunately never got to be a franchise.

See... I'm much happier in denial. Jurassic Park? Good thing nobody made a sequel (or four) of that! That would have been a terrible idea and tainted the original!

This way when they put out the live-action DiCaprio version of Akira, and the Sequel to Blade Runner, and whatever other crimes against humanity are on the drawing boards, you won't have to kill yourself. It's like Americans do... "War? Nah no war." and "Osama Bin Laden? We caught that guy!" Create your own reality.

Did nobody ever tell you Ray. 'Denial' is not a river in Africa.
