For me it has to be 'Michael Jackson's This Is It'. It blows all other Blu-rays I've heard out of the water. From the opening number ('Wanna Be Startin' Somethin') my jaw fell to the floor and never came back up. From 'Jam' and 'They Don't Care About Us', to 'The Way You Make Me Feel' and 'Thriller', each track has perfect bass weight and punch, and a clean, silky smooth treble with no hint of harshness whatsoever. This is just the most staggering sonic presentation I've ever had the privilege of hearing on this format, and it validates every penny I've poured into upgrading my sound system over the years.

I could name another 10 awesome HD soundtracks, but I won't bother because they're all inferior, quite frankly. Whether you're an MJ fan or not, you NEED to hear this disc on a good system if you have any interest in the sonic power of Blu-ray.

Anyone else have any favourite lossless soundtracks? My hunger for more demo material is insatiable!

A completely different breed to 'This is It', but I found that the DTS-HD MA soundtrack for the Bourne Ultimatum was probably one of the best sounding films I've ever played on my system (it probably helps that the film won two Oscars for sound). From the immersive sound design to the astonishing clarity of the dialogue and other sound effects, I've not heard anything like it, even from other DTS-HD Blu-rays.

Another two must-buys - 'Toy Story' and 'Toy Story 2'. Both feature an amazingly three-dimensional soundfield (especially with a 7.1 setup), with an abundance of subtle surround effects that are incredibly seamless.

Here are just two of the many grin-inducing moments - in the first film, when Sid's mother calls him from downstairs (or, rather, exclusively from the surround right channel) he proceeds to run off towards her, and you can hear every single footstep followed by a loud bang of a door in the distance. Another is in the second film, when Al leaves his apartment, having just stolen Woody. He starts off in the front three channels, laughing maniacally in his chicken suit, before moving to the surround left channel, then around the room before slamming the door in the surround right.

I find that it's little moments like this which make the most of Blu-ray's quality surround sound - even moreso than big, explosive action sequences.
