Bay City Rollers - the best pop group ever?
Last summer we had a fancy dress party and one of my regular came as a dude off Bay City Rollers. He gave me a CD to play in the pub so he could do his move (normally a respectable business man but by that time he was hammered).
Since then I more or less listen to the Greatest hits album every day
and while many friends told me that they were rubbish but somehow they end up humming along with the Bay!
How do you rate them?
survivor:I wasn`t a mad fan back in the 70`s but I do have a greatest hits cassette and it certainly does have it`s moments. Better than I remembered. My favourite song of the Rollers is `Give A Little Love` which I did like a lot when it was released and still do. You can`t beat the 70`s!
I was a big fan, must be the Scottish heritage. I remember their teatime telly show fondly.......

Indeed, the Scottish Beatles. I even had the tartan trimmed trousers. Had to nag my mother for about a month for those mind you.

Hi,
Did anyone have the multicoloured high-heel shoes?
They had their moments and always get people up on the dance floor.
Interestingly, both my children are now adding stuff I listen to, to their iPod/phones. Strange. Someone once said - 'the day the music dies' but it's funny how some fades away then returns with a bang. Or a Shang-a-lang.
Cheers,
Cofnchtr.
It is, in fact, the 50th anniversary of 'the day the music died' next February 3rd....
errr, no, not by an incredibly long way. They were awful. Truly awful, i was subjected to their "music" by my sister constantly.....never really recovered.ÿ
I'm glad someone has put this in perspective cos like most of the 70s pop groups they were utter dross.
I nearly replied to this the other day but was worried about getting banned if I said what I really thought.
Having been a teen in the 70's, this band were the anti Christ, luckily the star burned bright but short
If Take that released a cover version of LINK I bet they will go in at no.1 ![]()
warm my heart everytime....I must getting old and sobby!
