Albert Hammond - The Free Electric Band

I just bought this album for 99p from a charity shop as I'd heard the name but didnt have a clue what it would be like. Turns out to be absolutely brilliant. Anyone else a fan? If so what else should I listen to in a similar vain?

Thanks for that.Ill get that cd as there is a little crackling on the start of side 2 on the record anyway so dont mind having it again. Ill have a listen to the artists you mentioned.
A quick google shows that he co-wrote Starships 'Nothings Gonna Stop Us Now'. Eek!!

Oh, meant to say I think you`ll recognise the song `It Never Rains In California` when you hear it. Nice song.

He`s one of those guys who writes big songs for other people such as Elton John, The Hollies, Leo Sayer, Diana Ross, Tina Turner and loads of others. Chances are most people will have heard his work but just not realised who he is. Bargain at 99p. I`d have suggested the two on one cd of `It Never Rains In California`/`The Free Electric Band` but you already have one of those. There is a cheap greatest hits compilation I believe.
Other artists to try? Maybe stuff like The Sutherland Brothers or Gallagher and Lyle.
