25 years since....
This song hit the charts, along with one of the best videos of the 1980s. How old do I feel...[:S]
Fabulous. Remember it well ![]()
Clare Newsome:
Like me...very old.
Surely, this has to be the most innovative vid of the eighties.
Nothing innovative about stop-motion animation - it was used in the 1890s ![]()
But a great video - and song. And indeed album.
Never mind that. It's 25 years since this:
All together now:
"If you ever wondered how
You get triangles from a cow
You need butter, milk and cheese
And an equilateral chainsaw"

Back in the late Victorian period, it was due to a tangle of celluloid....
Back to the Future film 25 years old as well........................................![]()
Gee thanks Clare - I wasn't that young when this was in the charts! Doesn't feel like 25 years ago mind you.

Well at least we know what you want for Christmas...

Hunting High and Low was a good album but I was more impressed by these efforts:
Howard Jones - Human Lib
Nik Kershaw - The Riddle & the 1st Human Racing
Tears for Fears - The Hurting
These were Duran Duran beaters
, obviously Ultravox and Heaven 17 were as well!!
a few songs i remember from that time..
wishing well.. terence trent derby..
caravan of love.. the housemartins..
la bamba.. los lobos..
cest la vie.. robbie nevil..
the final countdown.. europe..
down to earth.. curiosity killed the cat..
lovely carefree times![]()
Clare Newsome:
And 25 years since Stings first solo album, Simply Red's debut, Tears For Fears peaked with Songs From The Big Chair, Kate Bush went all commercial with Hounds of Love and Dire Straits released one of the best selling Cd's of all time...
They were the days, but glad they're over !!!
ricardo65:Kate Bush went all commercial with Hounds of Love
Firstly -
. It's even No.85 in NME readers' top 100 albums of all time!
Secondly - the twenty minute concept track on side two is hardly commercial, wouldn't you say?
I'd also like to leap to the defense of Kate Bush. The Hounds of Love may have received popular acclaim but it is a great album nonetheless. In fact, I think it's her last great album.

I didn't say I didn't like it, I just said it was the most commercial and therefore her biggest selling album to date...personally I love that album (especially side two) but prefer her most recent Aeriel Album.
