warranty portable dvd player
Hi all, Do you think i am right in getting a little bit upset having to wait for a portable dvd player to be repaired under warrenty its now 3 weeks since i sent it back , its now waiting for a part to come before it can be fixed, goodness knows how much longer i have got to wait its only 6 months old.I Had to ring them after 2 weeks to see if they had received it then again after i week passed to see what was happening and they then said they were waiting for a part. The make was tevion by the way!
hi clare. they said they could not give me a replacement as they had none in stock! For the money it was good value and as it was brought for a child quite sturdy, it does say replacement if cannot be repaired i paid £50 for it from aldi so i would not be able to get a new one at that price from elsewhere. for a child just enough to pay
Argos do an own-brand portable DVD player for £48.89, which has decent user reviews. Details here
hi clare, if i have to wait much longer i will ask for refund. i brought 5 others for my grandchildren hope they are ok.,they did come with 3 yr warranty tho.will have a look into argos one. thanks

I'm stunned (though suppose we should be pleased from an environmental perspective) they're trying to repair such a low-cost item, rather than give you a straight replacement.
I'd push them for a date when it'll be ready, or ask for a refund/replacement. Is there any small-print in your warranty re time/conditions of repair/replacement?
