There WAS This Shop Near Me - Sounds Expensive.
For anyone who knows it, Sounds Expensive in Rugby are closing today. I have just found out whilst trying to arrange a demo.
I can't profess to have been their best customer, I've had some cables form them and an amp and speaker demo once, though I ended up getting the AVIs. Still, they were always good to deal with and They were comfortably my nearest hifi shop.
Hifi Gear:I do believe Nick (the owner) has stared a micro brewery business over the last few years (hic) which must be going better than hifi retail...
Yes indeed. To begin with I just heard a couple of them make reference to "the pub", and the picture grew from there.
Where are you based, Phil?
EDIT Nevermind

I used to live in Rugby and I met Nick at several dealer events such as at Meridian Audio, but I am now based in Herefordshire, our shop is on the outskirts of Gloucester city centre.
Can not believe it, real shame when a Good HiFi shop goes out of business, I Grew up in Rugby and as teenagers we used to look in awe at the kit, I rarely got in there as of late usually in Rugby on a Sunday, but whenever I did they were a super friendly bunch and really helpful. If they read this Good luck in whatever endeavours they Perusing now.
thats were i bought my stuff from rugby SE I must of listened to the monitor audios for around 50 hours over 3 months before buying and the genie2 i got it for £125 ex-display never demo'd before and keith set it for me and did everything for. I was going to buy a yamaha av amp and then nick demo'ed me my denon 1909 and he was right a far better interface and menu and it had a far better night mode. shame there going i did know they were doing well at there pub round the corner.
