Re: Record Shops in Southampton

If you can make to Portsmouth (a couple of minutes walk from Fratton railway station)...

http://www.vinylrecords.co.uk/

(And they have a twin platter Keith Monks cleaning machine that is regularly serviced and replenished by KM themselves in the Isle of Wight.)

Totally recommend going there - rather than buying online - if you can make the journey. You find far more interesting stuff - often accidently - by actual browsing rather than virtual browsing.

Their descriptions are pretty accurate but there is no substitute for looking at the discs yourself.

If you are into Soul music then the proprietor - Nick - will be able to help find anything for you (even if it's not in the shop).

Re: Record Shops in Southampton

There's a great Oxfam store in Southampton that specialises in music (vinyl, CDs, cassettes, music books etc). I've found some real gems in there in the past.

Direct link to the store here
