Starting to think a certain other retailer may have had a point the other day..With regard to fairness!

Meaning?

Not suggesting anything underhand on WHFs part.Merely stating i can understand David's point...

Given that ,when Canada16 posted a deal the other day it was met with sarcasm and yet this thread, that looks like a promotional brochure complete with glossy photos continues.

Re: Musicraft in Derby

Well, one was a direct promotion of an offer, albeit unwittingly it seems, and was worded in the same way as another similar promotion of the same retailer, the poster suggesting he'd 'heard that' various things were happening at that retailer when in fact it transpired he'd heard it in a conversation with a member of the shop staff.

This thread has a number of posters, and unless anyone has any means of proving any of the posts are anything other than they appear, the thread stands, even though I am growing very tired of the Musicraft/FHHF 'tit for tat' games.

If you're going to allow retailers to openly post within forums then you're going to have to expect them to 'promote' their offers, occasionally through 3rd parties. Either you police these or allow a free for all......seems a little pedantic to start having a go at enthusiastic forum members who see a deal and want to let other enthusiasts in on it!

Hardly direct. I had nothing to do with it.

Re: Musicraft in Derby

I have finally managed to make it happen.

After a lot of thinking, and discussion's with Rick and some fellow ATC enthusiasts, I have ordered my ATC scm50asl Pro's from Musicraft.

Initially i wanted the amazing scm100asl Pro's that Rick has on demonstration in Musicraft, but after some thought i decided that anything bigger than the 50's would really be pushing my luck at home with the girlfriend Smile

As always, Rick was a pleasure to deal with and i cant wait to receive my 50 pro's Smile

I will be sure to post pics when they arrive.

I'll swear on my kids lives if you like - I don't use those sort of tactics.

Re: Musicraft in Derby

My ATC scm50asl Pro's arrived today Smile

Thanks to Rick at Musicraft for supplying my speakers and being so helpful along the way.

If you haven't seen the Pro versions of ATC's loudspeakers, you must visit Musicraft to see them in the flesh(scm100pro's on Demo). They are MEAN looking speakers that mean business Smile

Cheers
Matt

Re: Musicraft in Derby

I now have my ATC CA2 pre amp up and running in my system. The synergy between the ATC pre amp and speakers is stunning.

Thanks Rick for supplying the amp and the great service as always.

Cheers

Now, does Rick really use a £5 mains extension from Wilkinsons to power this.........?

Yes he does - saw it all yesterday, it's also hooked up with 'basic' speaker wire.

Re: Musicraft in Derby

Thanks oofy, I was wondering what the snake skin like coil was at the bottom right of the picture was. It looks suspiciously high end audiophile grade cable! I did not think it was from Wilkinsons!

Re: Musicraft in Derby

Hi idc, yes i wondered about that, looks expensive but apparently retails at about £7 per metre. It wasn't actually hooked up to that system, but was just coiled up on the floor (snake like), for show.

Re: Musicraft in Derby

I picked up the Apex package, stands, cables and Yamaha 3067 amp from Musicraft last week for a very good price.

I must say that after going to three places partially because i was disappointed which the service of one of the dealers and also to check them out with different amps (Onkyo 808, pioneer lx73 and 83 and yamaha 3067) Musicraft was fantastic. Very good advice and surprisingly Rick (owner) was very different to most AV dealers who are simply looking to extract the most money they can from you. Even though he knew i was prepared to pay more for certain components (namely cables) which were not really needed instead of just selling them to me he advised correctly against it - thanks Rick.

One of the retailers (who i won't mention by name but im sure most on here would know of) was unbelievably poor - i arranged an audition for the Apex package and new kef speakers which i was told to allow a couple of hours for and when i got there they played 5-10 mins of Die Hard on each system and that was the end of the demo.

Would definately recomend Musicraft....thanks Rick
