Has anyone recieved a refund from Play.com recently?

I've used Play for several years and although the customer service isn't the best in the world it has always been adequate. Well until recently anyway; in the last two months i had two orders undelivered: one from play and one from a play traders. No problems i thought, there both guarenteed under my consumer rights or Play's FairTrade guarentee, well so i thought.
Several unrecieved notification sent to Play (i'd email but they don't supply an address on the webste), no replys (except auto replies) or refunds. Now the first order (16/08/10) is so long ago i can no longer send unrecieved notifications (i'd talk to someone on the telephone but no one replies). I know i thought; i'll post my customer service /refund concerns on the review page but the admin service is fast compared to the customer service. The review was removed in seconds so now i'm warning other customers about the complete lack of any worthwhile customer service when orders are misplaced
I've had years of happy shopping a play, i hope i don'y have to find an alternative

Same, I use Amazon almost exclusively now as customer service is excellent.

I have used Play and Amazon alot over the years but it looks like It maybe worth sticking with Amazon from now on.
Amazon are far better than Play in my experience.
I received a broken laptop from play a few weeks ago. It took a couple of weeks, but they did replace it without argument and refunded the return postage.

The biggest problem i have found with play and amazon to a lesser extent, is a basic lack of or incorrect product information sometimes i have to use other sites for the correct product info and then buy it from play or amazon.
I had to send superman returns blu ray back 3 times as i wanted the true HD one as shown on their site and i kept getting the standard DD version even after i told them why i was returning it !

Only ever had two items go missing and these were replaced straight away after notifying them by email......
No problems good service.

Guess you guys just got unlucky!
Have regularly use both for years never had any issues ,1 Play delivery disappeared but they reposted promptly after delivery dates had passed. Maybe you were just unlucky
I have never had any problems with play.com and have returned items for refunds yes, always been excellent with me.
They're useless! I ordered Dance With My Father by Luther Vandross. The picture shows the DVD-Audio version at £10.99 although it's described as a CD. I thought I'd give it a go hoping it would be the DVD-A as they also had the CD version advertised for £4.99. When it arrived it was the CD unfortunately, not the DVD-A as pictured. I contacted Play.com via their website explaining that I'd been sent the CD which is advertised as £4.99, but I wanted the DVD-A as pictured at £10.99. I got a reply and apologies with a return code and £1.40 for return postage. They sent me the replacement which was again the CD. I then rang them and spoke to a foreign call centre. The lady I spoke to seemed to have difficulty in understanding me, but I made it quite clear I wanted the DVD-Audio as pictured, not the CD. If the DVD-Audio was not available I'd have a refund. She noted this and a few days ago I received another CD! I give up.
I cancelled my Play account last year. In mid-December I ordered a cd for my wife for Christmas, which was advertised as being in stock, but it wasn't despatched until January 2nd and received on the 4th or 5th, I think.During that time I emailed twice, but got no reply and then decided to close my account.To do this I had to call them and spoke to a very sulky young woman who was borderline rude and not interested at all in why I wanted to cancel.Now I just use Amazon and except for one markteplace seller a few years ago I don't think I've ever had a problem.
I've used both Play and Amazon extensively for many years. Both have occasionally failed to deliver an order, but this is very occasional and (after the lengthy 'delivery period') I have always had my replacement or refund. In fact, Amazon have twice been difficult over this - trying to claim I must have received both and trying to charge me twice. If delivering to home address I will use play as they always package things separately. Otherwise I just go on price.

Customer Service at Play.com is useless. I used to spend quite a bit with them but now absolutely refuse to do so, and now use Amazon instead.
One thing to maybe try as they were non deliveries is to contact your credit card company.
