Frank Harvey Hi-Fi Excellence
FrankHarveyHiFi:We already use Sonos in store as a demo tool, but we're currently setting up a wireless system in store that is independent to everything else (for security reasons). Once this is up and running, customers who come in for a demo will be passed an iPad with access a library of music streamed losslessly from a PC, as well as Napster, Spotify, Last.FM, and Deezer.
Does that mean I Could bring My 160GB Apple TV in for a day before Christmas or a play. Do you have anything like the B&W 805s or would I need to bring them in also? I should not be doing it but I would like to listen to Stereo and AV back to back ti see if I could make improvements in Stereo over my current set-up - SR6003 & MA6100 Bi Amplified SR is used as DAC and Run in Pure Direct, without spending silly money.
Hi Paul
We've had a slight setback setting the wirless system up - we had intended it to be in place for tomorrow night's open evening, but that's not going to happen now (Sonos will be using their own 3G network). It should be sorted out either late this week or sometime next week, so I can't see any reason why you can't bring your MAC. How do you normally link it through your system? Wireless or plugged directly into it? I'm sure if you have the right cable you can link it through the system anyway, not needing the wireless system.
We're working on an 800 series account (apparently we have local competition?!), but that'll be next year sometime now.
Thank you for your time on the phone ![]()
Was going to create another thread but I might as well sing the praises of Frank Harvery on here.
A massive thanks to David, for helping my friend with his new TV sound setup. He is now extremely happy the service, advice & equipment he has settled with. Also very nice to hear my first audition of a Bryston setup, im sure I will be back next year to take things further.
Pleasure meeting the team & seeing the store for the first time too.
Thanks again

Thanks Vinny, always nice to meet people from the forums
Just wanted to add my praise for Frank Harvey Hi-fi and the excellent customer service that Kevin provided me. He dealt with a multitude of questions by email and sourced me a B-grade pair of Monitor Audio Apex speakers and stands (to act as my rear speakers), a PLC-350 as well as an A-grade PLW-15. He stored all of those until my house move fell apart and then had them delivered when I was ready for them!
I have dealt with David in the past when he organised me a demo of the Monitor Audio Platinums as a 5.1 system and again the experience was excellent.
Highly recommended.
So is there an opening evening at the end of the month like there has been in past years? I saw something about a Cyrus demo, but wondered if there were any other events planned, you did quite well out of me last year.
There will be an evening (on the 30th, if I'm allowed to mention it), which I will be passing the details onto the WHF team once they've all been finalised so they can hopefully publish them
A pat on the back for Kevin and Davids patience with my selection. No pressure service with a smile, be back as soon as funds improve lads.
Great service and advice yet again, cheers lads.

Hi Rob

Anytime, just let me know when you're coming

Once this is up and running, customers who come in for a demo will be passed an iPad with access a library of music streamed losslessly from a PC, as well as Napster, Spotify, Last.FM, and Deezer. Of course, they can also bring in their own old fashioned shiny discs too
I recommend the Marks & Spencers Brie, Grape and Cranberry sarnies
