Hi

I just want to warn off people from buying from this online store www.greatbargainmusic.com

I bought some Bose QC15 headphones from them for £200 which seemed like a reasonable deal (they were on Amazon at the time for £230) and to cut a long story short, I feel that I have been scammed.

Recieved the headphones, but after about half an hour of listening to music, a hum and crackling develops in the right earpiece as if there is a loose connection somewhere. No way that Bose headphones do that.

So when I did contact them, I got some responses which were basically fobbing me off. There was no customer service, no telephone number to actually speak to someone, responses to emails dried up (not had a response since 10 May 2012). So if it looks too good a price to be true, it certainly is the case from this place.

Learn from my lesson - buy from reputable people you know. It's not just about the product, it's about the service.

I just wanted to add to thi spost unfortunately i had a similar experience.Bought some gamer headphones from their site for my son to play on his xbox they took 2 weeks to arrive! The headphones that arrived were the PC version, the website mentions no quibble refund etc etc anyway 2 weeks have passed and i have only recieved 2 answers from them but only after threatening legal action which i will be continuing against this joke of a company. needless to say they will not accept returning the items and avoid contact with buyers as much a spossible once they have your money!!!!! Worth speding £10 more with a reputable company.

I hope you are both aware of your rights as consumers particularly when buying online?

Section 75 of the consumer credit act will apply if you paid by credit card and the vender is not being helpful.

I bought a pair of Bose headphones.  After two weeks of not receiving them (even though they were quick to take my money) I had to chase them.  When I finally received them I received an extremely scratched and used pair of headphones.  I had my suspicions that these were fake and took them to a Bose shop who sent them to one of their engineers who confirmed they were counterfeit.  I tried to get a refund through Great Bargain but they were not forthcoming.  I reported Great Bargain Music to the Trading Standards and also Bose said they were going to carry out their own investigation to get the website shut down.

I ended up being able to get a refund through my bank as it was paid for on a credit card but this did take quite a lot of time.

RGD, actually I contacted the relevant authorities (through manufacturer websites) regarding this website selling fake headphones & received a call from George Clyde this morning. This is part of their investigation.

Fairy Nuff BB, but I still think it would have been more professional to do it through WHF site operators, especially as it got posted 3 times.

Edit- and apologies if it was.

We all know the problems posting on the forum, & most new members end up duplicating posts. I can see that it has now been corrected.

Thanks for your help on this bigboss. It's also worth pointing people to our thread on 'How to avoid buying fake headphones' which lists officially authorised headphone websites and known resellers of fake ones.

RE: Buyers Beware of Great Bargain Music

Unfortunately l hadn't read this post until after l ordered the goods. I was vary when the site asked for payment by pay pal. I had learnt from an earlier experience  that if you pay pal and by bank transfer then their protection is worthless. So, whenever l pay via pay pal l always use my credit card.

I ordered Bose headphones at only £30 cheaper than my local store and then l was horrified to read these posts. I had received an email from GB music stating goods had been despatched.  I have emailed them to enquire about delivery and nothing. So, l rang my credit  card and they informed me that because the web site promises delivery within 4 - 6 days, l am entitled to ask for a refund as goods not delivered within contracted time. A very simple process.  The credit card has advised me if they do turn up, simply return them with proof of posting. Or maybe refuse to accept delivery! But, l am getting my refund!

If l had waited till the goods were delivered and going on history of posts it transpired that they are poor Chinese copies, l would have to write to them rejecting them and getting independent  evidence as to whether headphones were genuine. This process is so much longer and l am so grateful to Amex for the 'goods not received process'. I was assured that failure to deliver within agreed terms allows me to follow said process.

Shame on PayPal as in the past l have informed them of fake goods being sold by their vendors and they did absolutely nothing to remove vendor or return my monies!!

I am so grateful to earlier posts because l managed to recover my monies relatively painlessly. Three lessons for me;

1 - never buy via pay pal unless via credit card - chocolate tea pot  to mind!!!!!!!!!!

2- buy your electronics from a high street store, from a name you know as it's the best way  guarantee the goods are genuine

3- check for phone numbers on web sites in the future

RE: Buyers Beware of Great Bargain Music

I posted back in July and and have since spent much time trying to get my money back. I asked for a refund for the Bose headphones as it was taking so long for anything to materialise, but they still posted them to me when they knew I was on holiday in August. I returned the phones to an address that GBM gave me by registered post and I have still not received a refund, even after sending proof of postage. These people are charlatens and will rip you off, I'm sorry, but there is no other way to view this company, an absolute disgrace
