Seeing as this seems to be a forum for the good and bad of hi-fi retailing, I have to say that Audio T (used to be Practical Hi-Fi) in Manchester have been nothing but helpful to me.  I'm not an expert with hi-fi, and the sales staff in this place have been excellent each time I've been in.  They have actually pointed me away from more expensive options in the past.  They have also let me have plenty of kit for home audition (yes, I do know that's part of the job), and at no time have they ever tried to 'hard sell' anything to me.  I will definitely not go anywhere else in Manchester for my hi-fi kit.

Exactly the same as I would say for their Warrington shop - superb service, staff, knowledge/advice and prices.

A delight to have dealt with on all 3 occasions that I have so far and hopefully the same in the future.

A massive Yes

I used to say the same for creative audio but unless you fall on the right staff member then you will end up with some young numpty (IMHO) who can't even connect up an Onkyo ipod dock correctly - shameful and painful on the ears when he has just wound the volume on the amp around to the right and then gets the connections right ! (luckily I moved around a corner and did not take the full hit of sound - saw that one coming).

Well I have to second everything you say, everytime I need a need piece of Kit this is the only place I go, I deal with Munir here and he is very knowledgable, very helpful and flexible on price.

I too would go nowhere else, and I am glad to hear that others share my views.

Ditto the Preston branch where I bought my Sonos system just before Christmas.  Because there's never any "hard sell" just sensible balanced well reasoned advice somehow I always seem to be reaching for my wallet.  Still I've always been happy with my purchases there going all the way back to the Practical Hi-Fi days and my Aura/Mission 752 system in the 90's. Still using those speakers today.
