A big thanks to Audio Emotion in Leven in Fife. 

Gary and Mark have been very patient and let me swither and experiment whilst ekeing out the best value for my modest (c. £1.8K) budget.  Prices they have been quoting match online/direct sales and all the recommendations have been within budget (rather than the upselling approach - although I have been fairly effective at upselling myself on some stuff!).  They have also made recommendations from new and secondhand stock, extending the options. 

I'm at the bottom end of their customer base (some stuff they are selling is around £40K!) but have never been made to feel rushed or that my tastes and choices are any less important than those of other folk.

So - if you live in the Scottish Central Belt and are looking for decent hi-fi advice, no pressure, a relaxed listening room/shop environment and no parking hassles I recommend them wholeheartedly.

 

I had superb service from Gary even though I didn't end up buying there. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Yep, along with Jordan Acoustics (formerly Shadow Audio) in Glentrothes, that bit of the country is doing quite well with two high end independents on the go.

I went through a major system upgrade this year (see signature for details). This involved getting a high quality DAC, large active speakers and a substantial subwoofer. 

After extensive research and shopping around and looking for demos for several months making decisons proved to be problematic due to lack of stock of these items with dealers and therefore little possibility for demos or home trials.

At some point I was lucky to meet Mark at a HIFI show where we discussed my needs and he made me an offer that no other dealer was able to match - home trial of:

- Benchmark Dac1 HDR,

- both (!) ATC SCM 50 and SCM 100 active towers in my choice of finish and

- ATC C4 sub (which no other dealer was able to demo at all - home or shop).

We also negotiated a very good deal price-wise.

I think that when you buy serious hifi, peace of mind, confidence of choice and leaving no chance of regrets is very important and Audio Emotion was able to offer this. I could make evaluation without any pressure of time or cost and choose the products confidently. This is the way it should be done.

I'd like to add my thanks to Gary & Maureen at AE off whom I've just bought my ex demo Creek Evo 2 CD player.

Absolutely top notch customer service, extremely quick despatch, and to cap it all a phone call in the morning to inform me at what time later that day my CDP would be delivered!

The CDP was in superb mint condition as described, and came double boxed which was a nice surprise too.

Gary's enthusiasm for all things Hi-Fi came across loud and clear from my dealings with him, and I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone.

If I'm ever up in that part of Scotland I'm sure I'll find some time to pop in and say hello and have a browse.
