Bristol dealers

I have nothing but praise for the 3 dealers in Bristol that I use regularly.

Richer Sounds - enough said!

Sevenoaks - the chaps in there know me personally now, when I had my hi-fi stolen I did the insurance replacement through them. We had a cash settlement from the insurers, they did me a cracking deal on a complete system leaving me enough for a 51" plasma telly and Freesat HD box, and still some cash left over. They've since done me some deals on speaker cable for the PC system, and a few other bits.

Audio T - needed a 5m phono interconnect for the car (head unit to amp), rang them up, they happened to have one in (QED Profile), said I could have it 25% off as it had been sat in the stockroom for a while. Picked it up and ended up spending ages chatting to the guy about turntables etc.

Used to use Radfords a fair bit too but they sadly closed (although I did pick up my Arcam DV79 brand new for 500 quid when it was still a current model retailing for £1000).

I think Paul Roberts is still there but I've never actually used them. Did pop in once and they seemed pretty helpful and friendly.

It does seem that proper hi-fi dealers really have a passion for the products, not like going into Currys et al!

I found Radfords a little bit too late.  Or at least I should say I grew up enough to afford Radfords too late! They did me a fantastic deal on a Project RPM9, two months later they were gone.

There is a little place on North Street in Bedminster you could check out too.  Forget what it's called, its in the old Panasonic shop.

Might have to check that out... need to pop down to Southville next week and Bedminster's just next door.

+1 for Audio T in Bristol.

And Paul Green Hi Fi in Bath is also pretty good - they'll even make you a cuppa char - although the demo room is too small and has poor accoustics, hence they're happy to let you take stuff away, or they'll deliver/collect, for a home demo.
