heres a few that spring to mind...

- animated widgets so you dont need to open apps (for example the weather widgets u see on HTC/windows phones)

- browse flash websites

- stream stuff to/from Sony/Samsung/Panasonic/Denon/etc kit with DLNA

- customise the appearance/layout

- replace standard apps with ones of your choice (eg internetbrowser, musicplayer)

- drag/drop/browse contents of phone

This is without going into things that work better on android such as multitasking, cloud services.  Apples attempts are still poor.

I agree with you apart from 3, 4 & 5, you can change the appearance, lock screen, wallpaper, arrangement of apps. And you can replace safari with something like opera mini or mercury. There are also other music players about too. You can also get DLNA server apps from the app store.

Buy software from the store of your choice.

Choose a screen bigger than 3.5" on your phone.

Drag and drop files into the folder of your choice to and from the computer of your choice.

Choose how you want the home screen to look

Choose a different keyboard.

Check the weather forecast/social updates/emails/texts/etc by simply looking at the phone.

Toggle wifi/bluetooth/data by clicking on a single icon

Download an mp3 and set to ringtone in a couple of clicks.

Share the current web page with my Chrome browser and vice versa

Pause/play by pressing an icon.

To be fair most of those are simply due to the lack of widgets and some I'm guessing.

Lack of choice essentially.

Perhaps I wasnt clear with regards 3&5

I'm talking about replacing a default app with another and setting the new one to be the default. Not just installing another app that does the same job, and then have to manually choose that app each time.

Any OS task that needs that sort of app will still use the default one, rather than the new one.

RE: What can't you do, or think you can't do, on an iPhone?

lol some people have some issues

- animated widgets so you dont need to open apps (for example the weather widgets u see on HTC/windows phones)

Just scroll down top to bottom on iPhone and all the latest info is there, including weather in your current location all the alerts and news that you have on your iPhone like ESPN F1 and eBay, not only that all info on calls and messages is there for quick access so you miss nothing.

- browse flash websites

Your abillity to browse flash will be gone in a few years so thats not an issue

- stream stuff to/from Sony/Samsung/Panasonic/Denon/etc kit with DLNA

It streams to my ATV and other Airplay items though this is another thing that will possibley be fazed out in the future as the major company's adopted Airplay like Pioneer

- customise the appearance/layout

Ok you may have this one though you can change wallpaper but not really layout

- replace standard apps with ones of your choice (eg internetbrowser, musicplayer)

You can replace all apps now this isn't a problem

- drag/drop/browse contents of phone

You can do this just hold you'r finger for a few seconds on your apps, you can either delete or move the app to a new location

I don't see the issues you claims maybe in the first couple of years you could claim these issues but they have all long gone.

Can you connect your phone to your computer though wifi? and sinc everything you need without having to getup getting your phone from the kitching and having to plug it in to your pc?

The only one thing i find annoying with the iPhone is turning the WiFi on and off, it's to many clicks and swipes

? That's the most insane justification I've ever seen! That's like someone complaining that their radio doesn't pick up FM, only to be told "That's fine, FM will be switched off in 5 years time anyway.". Well, good, but how does that help NOW?

Buy software from the store of your choice.

I take you mean the OS systems?

Choose a screen bigger than 3.5" on your phone.

True there are many other sizes to choice from

Drag and drop files into the folder of your choice to and from the computer of your choice.

This works fine with macs just as you would have a problem doing the same with trying this with a mac

Choose how you want the home screen to look

Yes this is slightly limited though i have never met anyone who has changed there original screen settings on there Android phone

Choose a different keyboard.

True though not an issue and most Android users don't change there keyboard settings

Check the weather forecast/social updates/emails/texts/etc by simply looking at the phone.

Turn on and scroll down screen which pulls more info down inc weather, emails, texts, push notices, etc, etc

Toggle wifi/bluetooth/data by clicking on a single icon

Yes agree the worst point with the iPhone

Download an mp3 and set to ringtone in a couple of clicks.

Obviously you haven't tried it, it take 3 clicks ( wow my life is about to end )

Share the current web page with my Chrome browser and vice versa

Yes you can do that with Safari, Chrome and Opera

Pause/play by pressing an icon.

Double click the home botton when locked or unlocked and its there

Can you mirror you'r screen to you'r ATV ?

But i don't find it an issue, only those with the issue do.

I've come a few pages from time to time that contains flash and have found otherways of viewing what i wanted, and with Windows dropping Flash, Flash will be gone within a few years so whats the prob?

It's always the same with narrow minded people, if they have a problem with something everyone else has to have the same issues too.

I'm not going to worry about such a small and irrelevant issue, im just thankfull for the choices of tech we have regardless of pro's and con's

I have played around with a few android phones and have found some neet touches and some others that weren't so good, but every phone is different, but i'm not going to get on my hi horse and say you'r phone is poo because it cant do this and this.

Well that's put me in my place, there's no arguing with that!

Three points:

1) Clearly it is an issue, otherwise nobody would have mentioned it.

2) How do you KNOW most Android users don't change their keyboard settings (have you asked them all)?

3) You're missing the point of the thread. It doesn't matter if it's an issue or not, the question was simply "What can't you do on an iPhone?", it's not a question that requires anyone to defend it, it's simply asking for information.

To be fair, someone set up a thread asking what others find the iPhone can't do and people have listed the ones they believe are issues for them. To then call them narrow minded is a bit unfair - they were just trying to help the OP understand their own personal choice of not using an iPhone.

EDIT - what he said

Flash on the Mac has always been a buggy peice of junk.  It was for a long time the number one cause of browser crashes.  It also for a long time didn't support hard wear rendering so was a massive processor drain.  Is it that supprising that we arnt sad to see it go?
