The HD one is £159, but still, bargain.

I'm glad I told Mrs JD not to get a Nexus 7 for my birthday.

It is worth pointing out that Kindle Fire is a closed system and is not compatible with the Google Play Store.

It also uses a forked version of Android(4.0.3) so is likely not to be upgradable to the new android version Jellybean.

Pricewise it looks quite good, although I think the £200 Nexus 7 still beats the £200 version of the Kindle HD due to its extra processing power and Jellybean.

They havent announced whether the 8.9'' 1900x1200 version will be coming to the UK as well. That one would be very interesting.

You can of course root it and put whatever version you want on it.
