iphone use in the car

I have heard that you can buy some kind of receiver that you plug the iphone in to and it works on the cars stereo system?

Not explaining it very well,anyone any idea what this is?

Are you refering to the Griffin iTrip?  It is a small fm transmitter, that alows you to tune the car radio to the iTrips frequency, and broadcast your own tunes to it.

there are many out there I have a Belkin one.  I charges and takes an audio out of the headphone jack and transmits a FM signal that you tune into on the stereo.
