Google Mail - Nexus 7

On my Nexus 7 - the Gmail app is open all the time - is there a way to log out of google mail on the Nexus so the mail info is not visable ?
Hi not really expaining it well - I just want to know can you log out of g mail or not.
There is no real way to 'log out' of gmail. You can either stop all the synching or create a 2nd user profile if you don't want others on the N7 reading your email.
You can't log out
You can disable sync for a particular account, or clear its data, but the later essentially means you'd be deleting all data associated with that account and setting up from scratch every time you wanted to use it.

Sory not very good at this stuff a real learning curve for me.

Settings>Accounts>Google
Then select your Google account, you can then change sync settings for various Google services associated with that account.

Not sure what you mean by the gmail app being open all the time, unless you mean the widget.
But if you're worried about other users having access to your accounts and apps etc then just add seperate user accounts for them.
Thats one of the good things about JB (on tablets) its multi-user
