Apple New IPAD - 'Latest Reviews'
Why does the New iPad[64gb/4G] keep appearing in the 'Latest Reviews' on the News page?
It clearly isn't a 'latest' review because it was done on or before 16th March. There have been plenty of more recent reviews that are displaced for this NOT latest review.
Wouldn't have anything to do with product/manufacturer bias, would it?????????????
And maybe 'Latest Reviews' looks at edit date rather than 'create date'.
Review bias my EDITED.
I'm guessing it's because they've just added a video to the review.
Exactly. Video went live this afternoon. And no, relocated, it's got nothing to do with product/manufacturer bias. Here are the facts: our iPad 3 review is the second most popular one on the site right now, and our news story on the iPad 3 launch was read by four times as many people as any other story we did that month. It's what people are interested in.

Thank you for that Andy.
The fact that it is the most popular etc is surely irrelevant in the 'Latest Reviews' headline. Surely that would be relevant in the heading 'Most Read Reviews', which is in the Reviews page I believe, and not the 'Latest Reviews' headline to which I refer.

Why is it I can see your naughty word still John? Rude version of bottom indeed!

Thank you for that Andy.

As JD explained, it's appeared under Latest Reviews this afternoon because I updated it with the video just after lunch.

Yes I understand that. That is why I said, "Thank you for that Andy".
But then you went on to explain about how popular the review was which drew my further, wrong headings, comments.
Pleased to see no bias, especially as I recall you blogging that you wouldn't be going from your ipad2 to the latest ipad, that they don't seem to have called the 3, just the 'new ipad'.
Jolly quick responses, so thanks for that.
No problem.

It's when you quote someone else's swear word, the filter seems to be removed allowing you to see the original word until you press save and then the filter is reapplied. It's a little odd but has its uses...

John,
I wasn't questioning "review bias" but 'product/manufacturer' bias. As in repeatedly pushing out other more recently reviewed products in the 'Latest Reviews' headline. But it's all cleared up now.

Apple products do get more coverage...
For example - has the launch of the first quadcore phone (HTC ONE X) even been mentioned ?
Fairly sure somebody said there was one in the house, but while you're waiting...

But most people don't really care about the release of a new HTC phone (and even less care that it has a quad core processor) and this is reflected in the media coverage it garners.

Really?
Quite a few of the more popular tech/gadget sites have already reported on it/reviewed it.

I'm guessing it's because they've just added a video to the review.
No signature worth mentioning...
