Not had them for long then?  Give it a couple of years then they will stop working!   Wink

Have had mine for 3.5 years now - still going strong. My Mum's is about 4 years old.

I've had a pure Chronos iDock for about 7-8 years. This had daily use in the kitchen. I've recently swapped to another unit with an iPhone lightning connection, but the iDock is still in use with a family member. I've had a pure one mini for maybe 5 years. This has daily use in the bathroom, and occasionally round the house, and still works perfectly. In fact, the battery seems to be lasting longer and longer!

Blimey, you are lucky!  I had two the Pure Evoke 2 and the Pure Evoke 1S and bought a speaker to go with it, and both radios stopped working.  Pure did nothing either!

I think it's more accurate to say you've been unlucky.

How old were they and what do you mean by Pure did nothing? Did you take it back to the retailer?

:O   I had two and both stopped working, Pure did nothing to help either, ended up selling them faulty on eBay!

RE: Don't Buy Pure Radios!

Yep. We've had our Pure Evoke Flow since they were first launched a few years ago. (Actually in 2008 I just found from a search.) It's being used by my eldest daughter without any problems. Great little radio.

Our Pure Evoke 1 is much older and that still works well. (Used as a radio/alarm.)

Nowadays we have the Ruark R1 in the conservatory but that doesn't diminish my respect for Pure radios.

They were both quite a few years old and out of warranty, so emailed Pure and they said they could do nothing apart from offer £20 discount of a new one!   Yeah right, buy another one great idea!  Both just would not turn on anymore.

I got two. A Pure One Flow internet thingy and a fairly ancient Tempus-1.

Both have been excellent.

Your Pure radios were also fine "for quite a few years". You won't know if the Roberts will be any more or less reliable for a long time yet.

Frankly I think Pure were generous offering you £20 discount given how long out of warranty they were.

Check out this thread for the same problem:

And you constantly see faulty ones on eBay!

As chebby says, you can't really compare them at this stage.

How old is "quite a few" anyway? Your original post suggested they were barely out of warranty, but quite a few to me suggests 4 or 5 years. There's no way I'd expect Pure to replace my radio free of charge after that amount of time - it only cost £80 or something!

RE: Don't Buy Pure Radios!

I have two Pure products in daily use (a One in the kitchen and a Chronos CD by my bed) and they have given me no issues over the two or three years we've had them.
