PS3 to stereo

I'm unable to connect my PS3 to my stereo.

When I've used female to female connectors, the cables are loose and don't pick up a decent sound quality.

The problem is they're both different types of cable. The PS3 audio is RCA (white, yellow, red) and the stereo is 3.5mm (white, black green).

I can't plug directly into the monitor, as there are no ports for external audio.

How can I connect the stereo to the PS3?

Any suggestions would be appreciated. With thanks. puzzled

I think the audio on PS3 is white/red, you need to connect these to your amp, this may help: http://www.ehow.com/how_6353017_hook-playstation-3-home-stereo.html

and here: http://www.whathifi.com/forum/hi-fi/how-to-connect-ps3-to-stereo-amp

You should have a cable already.

That's the bizarre thing. There are no inputs for my speakers either. They were pretty cheap: http://www.ebuyer.com/226858-creative-a520-5-1-speaker-system-37w-total-rms-51mf4110aa008

It's only the 3.5mm cables coming out.

The problem you've got is those  speakers are designed for a PC, which needs those three 3.5mm cables to connect it. You could try a converter like this,  but having never used one, I couldn't guarantee it will definitely work.

EDIT - sorry, that's US Amazon - UK version here.

Thanks Professor Hat! Although I went to my local electricians and got one of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000Q8FEQQ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A309A4V0PG1SD5

Along with a female coupling that seemed to work fine!
