I would like to know what your favorite rubbish ad is.  You know the ones, they are abstract, peculiar, really entertaining but are rubbish because they in no way make you want to buy the product the ad is selling.  Perfect example... the cadburys gorilla advert.  I found it really entertaining, but it in no way made me want to buy cadburys chocolate.

I was inspired by this peculiar thing I saw half way through an episode of Ace of Cakes...

I appreciate this might be hard work cos of all the vulgar people on you tube being at odds with house rules, but there are plenty of sites out there devoted to ads   Smile

My favourite rubbish ads are the ones where they re-dub foreign ads really badly - mystifyingly awful in this age of digital manipulation. The current Fiat 500 ads with Fernando Alonso (inexplicably dubbed as he's fluent in many languages) are a case in point.....

I really hate that reno clio advert, the one where it's been strung up, you know where it's dangling  from the ceiling, it really makes my skin crawl. Sad Angry

These two are particularly bad, but on the whole most adverts are dreadful these days. Here's one I hate: That soft fizzy drink ad where those guys make their boss think he's going bonkers so they can watch TV and drink said soft fizzy drink (wow, such evil geniuses!!) makes me want to put my foot through the TV.

I know the one you mean. They put the TV on to watch NASCAR and all start cheering and jumping. I remember watching it and thinking "No-one even crashed, how can anyone be so excited about NASCAR?!".

The one with Sir Lordy `Champagne Socialist` John Prestcott selling insurance.

How can that awful man live with himself.

God I hate that advert.

I agree but,

Sorry.........as I did have a childish snigger at the footage of him "reading" in a quiet place. Surprised they got away with that.

I think I explaind badly...

I want to see adverts that are good because they are an entertaining peice of film, you enjoy watching them, but they are rubbish at being an advert because they dont make you want to purchase the product...

Another example...

http://www.dcshoes.com/us/en/event/gymkhana4

Ken Block hooning around the universal studios lot, is absolutely increadible.  But, it in no way makes me want to buy DC clothing, so it sucks as an advert (although I do want that bonkers Fiesta...)
