world cup squad gets picked on tuesday so i guss it all starts here,

i just heard this morning talk sport has released jamie carager from his world cup pundit duties and will be picked for the 30 man squad

is he good  enough ?should he be picked after turning his back on england?who should be replaced?king, terry ,rio, dawson, upson.

also owen h makes the squad after 30 secound of football this season.we all no he was englands best holding midfielder but this would be a big risk.

and barry is out of the world cup as the injury is worse than first thought.

so what do you gus think on the squad that should be picked.

I hope Zamora does well for Fulham in the final hopefully he will be there as well, Heskey's form has been shocking.

no real suprises in the 30,at first look i would lose heskey, carra, and bains.i was glad to see milner make the squad and joe cole ,king and dawson are making the center back positions look strong

the keepers dont fill me with to much hope.

midfield looks strong i could be tempted to play five in midfield however i no fabio likes two up front so my vote would be rooney and bent to start with crouch coming on for 20 minutes at the end of each game.

Well yes I suppose you do have to bend if you're going to start with a crouch...

I think that as long as the boys go out there and give 110%, talk to eachother, listen to the gaffer, get the basics right, keep their minds in it, then with the squad we've got, we should be able to play some good football, which may result in us at least getting to the semi-finals.

What I like most about upcoming international football competitions such as this one, is the amount of hype that surrounds the team, the insight one is given into their lives and the extraordinarily well deserved news coverage that the players' wives/girlfriends receive. I for one, am very interested to learn what the summer look is going to be and who gets what handbag from where. I can't wait to pick up my copy of the Sun, News of the World, Daily (whatever) etc to get my fix.

Exciting times are indeed upon us gentlemen.

Solid work getting all those football clich‚s into one sentence...

I totally understand this. I cannot even drag myself to watch a Grand Prix race unless I know where the driver's girlfriends are buying their accessories.

Re: world cup thread (england)

I predict that England's World Cup will end with the captain saying something along the following lines:

"We did well, but at the end of the day, the other side just took their chances. We got to give 'em credit. The lads can hold their heads up high. They done their country proud. The fans were great out there, they never stopped cheering the team on. It's a shame it's over, but there are loads of lessons we've learned, and we'll be back better and stronger next time."

Game of two halves, all respect to the boss, on the day, luck of the draw, lads gave 110%, country should be proud, etc, etc...
