Hague is a despicable man, but really? It's so bad that he called a woman who he thought was stupid a stupid woman? It's bad behaviour in the house, but it isn't the height of sexism.

A fine riposte to John Inverdale from Marion Bartoli btw...
The Standard's headline was "Take That, Inverdale!"
You may want to use that erase and rewind button now.
I'm not entirely sure why.
I can't speak for all women, either
I'm actually a bit mixed up re whether women tennis players deserve to win the same as men when there's a disparity of game involved (eg some tournaments have games with max of three sets total for men AND women; not so Grand Slams).
However, I do strongly believe achievements and attainments should be more consistently reported - reaching the peak of your sport is worthy of praise, regardless of gender.
There have been far too many occasions in recent years when women's sport has been belittled and/or ignored - from Cricket and Football to Tennis. Yesterday was such an example (though many newspapers changed their second editions to add amendments to their headlines to make them more specific re Andy being first Men's Champion etc).
Having said that, this year's Wimbledon Women's Final was EDITED compared to the Men's
It was (edited) indeed Clare, you're not wrong there
For the women to be paid the same as men at Wimbledon or any where else for that matter given the few sets they play is sad in a way... though given that others can in point of fact point to the Fact that there is such a difference between the builds ect between man and woman... both give their all (apart from Lesikie, lol) and I'm sure that the woman players want equality... however others will point to this and say... "hey, you wan't same pay ?... play same amount of sets , giving them your all" ?
I see on many sports forums that folk STILL refer to Andy being the first brit ever since Fred to have won a Wimbledon Final.... I know that they say wrong in forgetting the woman winners of their titles but at the same time, KNOW what they are meaning :) I don't recon they are really meaning to be annoying to the female race.
It is Such a Blame culture we live in these days... sad

Two things, 1) Lisicki, 2) I guess you've never been crippled with nerves? Look at her semi-final (which was a fantastic match) and then say she didn't give her all.
Oh, three things: 3) Shut up.
No signature worth mentioning...
She is gorgeous!

On the basis that I agree, we should feel equally free to criticise men's and women's inept sporting performances. I'm watching the women's Euro championship, and England's women are no more capable of keeping the ball than England's men. The score is currently level, however.
All that said, coverage is on BBC Three, with very little media promotion. If this were the men's tournament, there would have been constant hype and HD coverage of all matches.
