hi all

me and my other half are thinking of purchasing a wii tomorrow in the sales, however there seems to be an infinite supply of accesssories and 'optional extras' and i was wondering if anyone could advise me of the extras i'll want for my gaming needs.

we will be playing new games (mario galaxy, new super mario bros, etc) in both single player and two player - does this mean i should get 2 motion plus remotes and 2 nun-chucks?

we will be playing old games downloaded from virtual console (also in one and two player) - what gamepads would you recommend for this or will the motion plus remotes be adequate?

she is also considering wii fit and (apart from the game itself) what accessories does she need to enjoy the game (balance boards etc)

are there any extras such as motion plus chargers that you would recommend?

thanks all and happy bargain hunting!

Re: wii accessory help

This is what you will need:

1X Will remote (1 Will come with the Wii) - Around £27.99

1X Nunchuks (1 will come with the Wii) Around £14.99

1 Wii Motion Plus (1 Will come with Wii Sports Resort) Around £19.99 - Might be worth buying Tiger Woods or Grand Slam Tennis for around £35 as they both come with the Wii Motion Plus Controller.

For virtual console games you NEED a control pad. You cannot use the Wii Remote. I would recommend buying the official Wii control pad. Cheap ones are rubbish. Around £14.99

I would just get 1 wii Fit board which will come with the game for around £70. Not worth having 2 as the novelty will wear off very fast.

Would be worth getting a charger for all the wii remotes and the wii board as the batteries dont last long. You can get some which charge via the usb port on the Wii which I think is better than a docking cradle.

Re: wii accessory help

The controllers you need for Virtual Console depends on what type of games you will be downloading. The Wii-Remote works fine for NES and TurboGrafx-16 games (since you can hold the Wii-Remote on its side like an NES controller) and also works with Mega Drive games that don't require the use of 3 or more buttons (i.e. Sonic the Hedgehog).

The GameCube controller also works well with Nintendo 64 games, though the best controller to use for Mega Drive, SNES and N64 games is the Official Nintendo Classic Controller.

Re: wii accessory help

I downloaded supermario 3, just could be the best video game ever invented. Graphic's look really good compared to when we had a NES. The new Mario Wii bros is a fun game and based on Mario 3.
