wife away for weekend.....ideas for blokey fun
title says it all..........ideas please and keep it clean(ish) ---)
i was thinking alphabetising all my CDs and DVDs .... yes i am a great laugh at parties
If you have a shed, garage or attic, it will almost certainly need re-organising. What I mean by that is that you will spend hours there, looking through old kit, magazines etc, and not actually throw anything out.
Great way to waste a weekend though - most satisfying!
thats some weekend you have there, what are those wives up too in mallorca .....! mine is off with her mum to paris
wow love the idea on colour coding the DVDs
dont have kids so perhaps a babylon 5 marathon ...
Great way to waste a weekend though - most satisfying!
Saying that, mine is also away for the day saturday (common theme here) so I'll probably be taking my daughter swimming and then take her down our holiday home (oh, alright, static caravan) on the north somerset coast for the day to dig sandcastles and find crabs in the rockpools.
There can be a blokey twist to this though. there is a waterfall on the cliff that makes a stream to the sea. I find it rather satisfying to "engineer" paddling pools and canals in the sand towards the sea using only a child's bucket and spade to divert the water flow
Should I purchase an anorak?
Best idea so far.
Not too sure about the organising your DVD by colour of the sleve idea as you would end up with some rather odd pairings on the shelves which could possibly not be too chlid friendly, well it would not be in my house! Cannibal Holocaust and Jungle Book side-by-side due to both being green, Hmmmm....
My DVD's are stored in 3 cabinets, 1 containing all the FAMILY DVD's, and the other 2 under lock and key with My DVD's I dont want the Kids watching, and before anyone trys to reply with anything EDITEDty, no I do not have 2 cabinets full of Skin Flicks!
Though now that you mention it - tim, that's the second best idea so far ![]()
as i have no kids perhaps i should re organise the DVDs to optimise bizzare pairings
natural born killers next to ice age 2 ha ha
You have no kids and you have a copy of Ice Age 2?????

Sounds cool to me. One of my fave films is Iron Giant. Long before our nipper was around. Just because you're old doesn't mean you have to sit around watching watch Ingmar Bergman films.
I loved Casablanca, me - but I wasn't too taken with The Inn of the Sixth Happiness
You have no kids and you have a copy of Ice Age 2?????
Ren And Stimpy, now that was a cartoon show especially the LOST EPISODES DVD.
STIMPY YOU FAT BLOATED EE-DE-OTTTT!!!
i always seemed to miss ren and stimpy apart from once or twice, shame as i like what i saw

Mine is too. So I shall be dropping daughter off at drama at 9am Saturday, picking up at 11, then she's off to Rosie's birthday party at 2 (note to self - make sure de-headloused) - then all the other dads are coming round with their kids (their wives going with my wife to Mallorca), fish fingers for tea, two Euro games in the evening, few beers. Sunday I'm a bit stuck. Might do swimming then Kew gardens if it's not raining.
Oh and yeah, def alphabetise your CDs (and also chronologically within artist, obviously). Don't do films alphabetically - do them by sleeve colour so that it looks like a rainbow on your shelf - your wife will love you for it
