These pictures were taken earlier today. This location is a mile and a half from our village, but luckily we're up on high ground. It took me an hour (almost) to travel 3 miles. Chaos.

No travel chaos near me, though some trees had come down, and the river has burst it's banks in dramatic fashion for miles and miles.
These are pictures from November 2012, but it's the exactly the same now.

January looks a better bet nowadays.

Anyone know what's happening in the Ringwood area?
My 97 year old grandad is in a home there and my parents are due to fly in from France next week for a visit.
His house will be okay as its up a hill but the old folks home is on the edge of the Ringwood flood plain. I wonder about electricity supplies in the southwest New Forest area (Ringwood, Burley, Bransgore to be precise).
Sympathies to people in the Iford Bridge area of Christchurch, but you know, that's always been a flood plain which is why there's no proper houses there, just caravans.
Thanks in advance.
I am sure the home will have no problem with relatives calling to check if everything is ok.
