Fenella Fielding (Carry On Screaming) on Baker Street many years ago asking a bus driver "Driver, does this bus go down the 'Dilly...?"
But the best exchange I have witnessed occurred in Sainsbury's in Cambridge when a student approached Clive James:
STUDENT: Are you Clive James?
CLIVE JAMES: (sotto voce) F*ck off.

Stephen Fry. Arthur Smith. My brother. Robin Nedwell. Philip Schofield. Motorhead. Iron Maiden. Heart. Judie Tzuke. Phil Collins. Saxon. Ian Gillan. Sachin Tendulkar. Jon Lord. Steve Vai. Played and sang the Zutons' 'Valerie' at a wedding with Austin Drage off of the X Factor. Once had a pee next to Michael Grade; he said "HELLO!" so loudly I stopped peeing and took a while to get going again.
I've also been in Clare Newsome's house, does that count?

One Christmas Eve many years ago, George Michael was stood behind me at the checkout in an M+S Food Hall.
Also saw Princess Di in the M+S in Kensington High St (baseball cap and dark glasses ensured she was instantly recognisable).
Spent many evenings in the bar at ULU with Ricky Gervais when he was Ents Manager there (so not strictly "famous" at the time).
Stood at a pedestrian crossing alongside Brian May and Anita Dobson.
Saw Kevin McCloud in Liberty's and asked him where he gets the stripey jackets he wears on TV (very nice chap).
Eddie Izzard in leggings and high heels teetering along Shaftesbury Avenue.
