Given the choice, I'd have my money back and stick with the V20
That's the first time I've heard that revelation.
The V20 worked properly. I can't say the same of any TV I've owned since.
I find screen uniformity issues more distracting than any other TV problem; and Panasonic can no longer manufacture a TV with a uniform screen. I don't know what happened to Panasonic's quality control after 2010.
The sad thing is there isn't an alternative. The F8500 has horizontal banding; and every LED TV out there suffers from torching. That's why I'd have the V20 back. I paid a lot of money to replace a product that worked properly with a succession of products that don't.
I try my best not to think about it, as it makes me angry.

what sort of uniformity issues are you having with the VT strapped? I haven't noticed any with the ZT so far (tempting fate, I know...).

Hi Mr Malarky,
There's a subtle cyan tint toward the left of the screen, and a rose tint toward the middle.
It affects very little content, but occasionally images of skies and fog show this uniformity problem up. It's certainly not as big an issue as vertical banding on the GT50; but it's a uniformity problem that still occasionally manifests in programme content.
If you want to check your ZT (and I'm not saying you should), you can put up grey slides. Alternatively the EPG shows the problem up pretty clearly, though only after you press the "i" (information) button on the remote to access the programme description.
Thanks, will have a look and report back. Is that the sky epg or the freeview one?
Cheers. It's Freesat, actually, but I think both onboard EPGs use the same graphics.
i wouldn't if I was you, what is seen cannot be unseen

But I have to know... If I was a cat I'd have a very short life I fear!
Well, have been looking out for it over the weekend and nothing to report so far, been keeping an eye out when using the menu screen and the sky EPG, but also stuck on a BluRay of "Frozen Planet" (plenty of white and light blue scenes), and nothing so far.
Fingers crossed it stays that way!!
