When I was but a boy, I paid a £1 for a 30p newspaper and got £9.70 change - I walked out feeling very happy, but then later felt incredible guilt at my dishonesty. Still, WH Smiths are still in business, so I think I can safely forgive myself for no harm done now.
desk lamp from ikea in 2004 - 3 quid. still using it.
House of Fraser had a 2-day sale on Ebay. Bought 2 brand new shirts worth £40 for £3.20 each.
A pair of designer Ralph Lauren trousers in green, and embroidered with cocktail shakers and champagne glasses. They were reduced from $140 to $30 (at $2 to the £1).....nobody else would touch them with a barge pole - but I like to wear them, when alcohol levels are likely to be somewhat raised!
smoked safety glass shelf from ikea for 5 quid.
glued 4 metal cones to it (free from Cornflake HiFi shop as I lended them a hi-rez demo disc).
Now serves as cool-looking isolation plate.
Got £150 worth of Denby Signiture plates etc for £26 from macro clearance section. The reason for the discount? One mug was missing.
Three years of ownership of a Canon 24-70 f2.8L lens for £20 proffit, that was pretty decent. Fluctuations in the Yen were good for something. Shame I didn't do so well on the 70-200.
The best however, was my sofa. A local smallish furniture retailer was closing down, and the lady working in the shop (who was sadly redundant) really couldn't give two poops about her job anymore. Sold me a £1600 three seater leather recliner for £430. Best upgrade to my system I have ever made! People talk about fatiguing tweeters, my old sofa was fatiguing...

3 pair's of Chord CrimsonPlus interconects for £12.00 from audio-t !!!!
Depends what you call a bargain; the £200 I spent on the Sansui was probably the best spend on any hifi item to date. The £33 for the AU-217 little brother is probably the next best.

i once had a thousand quid on a horse that won at 6/1, and paddy power are still in business..
that bet maxed out my credit cards e7000 limit, but when MBNA asked for their money i told them to sling their hook, and they're still in business too.
6k from paddy power and 7k from MBNA, that's what i call a bargain
when I was 17 I bought a pair of sony APM 121es speakers for £50 clearence at comet (list price £150) and stuck them in the boot of my austin metro along with a 200w power amp.
The headlights used to dim on every bass note, still makes me laugh now.
