What is your favourite advert of all time?
Now, we all hate adverts, but there are some that we really do enjoy and actually want to watch again. For example the Sony Bravia ad's. Now, I want all of you to post a link down below to your favourite advert of all time. Try and find a video of it on YouTube or somewhere else.
Here is my favourite advert: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQ3d3KigPQM#movie_player

all ads are appalling thats why so many watch the bbc

What a ridiculous statement. Yes your average soap powder ad is fairly dire, but many sectors of advertising are extremely creative. This one for example:

The podcast on here is very good also:
apologies but its the topic thats ridiculous
ads are a symptom of how sick this society is

As long as there have been goods and services to promote, there have been adverts (for example, there are adverts preserved on the walls of Pompeii!) Without them, you wouldn't be using this website, either
Anyhow, back to the OP - here's our sister magazine, Campaign's top 10 TV/cinema ads of the decade: topped by the Sony Bravia 'Balls' ad.
Clare Newsome:the Sony Bravia 'Balls' ad.
I thought it was rather good.

I'd forgotten about the Honda ad - being a bit of a car fan thats possibly my favourite ad of the decade. I think its that one (or another similar Honda ad) that I saw first of all in an ad break when F1 was on ITV. It took up the whole break. Genius.
the TSB the bank that used to say yes ![]()

I think the exploding paint one shot for real in a run-down housing estate is better.

I used to live reasonably near that estate (Torylgen Circus, Glasgow) and watched the scene with the tower block being filmed. The tower block was empty and demolished not long after. Most of the lower buildings still had occupants. They were all given free Sony Bravia TVs for putting up with the hassle. All of the paint was water based and removed within a few days.
The blackcurrant tango ad from the 90's with their spokesperson challenging a french exchange students negative opinion of bct....still raises a smile today
if half the money put into ads was put into films theatre or art thered be far more benefit to society as a wholeClare Newsome:

lets face it see one ad and youve seen them all you dont need the endless repetition
ads are cheap commercialism lets not forget that
i do agree ads are a necessary evil but evil they are
you might also consider the benefits to humanity if companies like nike put half of their vast advertising budget into paying its workers properly http://www.organicconsumers.org/clothes/nike041505.cfm

Oh well...
My favourite ad of the year was actually a trail...

If we are talking about all time there are some superb creative ads, superb strategic ads and also some rubbish. Stella advertising on TV has been consistently good, the Club 18-30 ads of a few years ago were very funny, Guinness have consistently pushed the boundaries and of course the Smash Martians were hilarious.
