Fortunately, in properly democratic free societies, people have choice.
Bottled water and fluoride-free toothpaste are readily available in the UK, so we should be ok.
When governments force "preventative" medication on its population, then it's a slippery slope.
Bottled water suppliers do not have to state how much or if any flouride is present in the water so it it is quite possible that there is some in your bottled water depending on where it was drawn from.
Some bottled water companies add flouride to the water .

Yup and it could be at significantly higher levels than what is added to tap water and yet nobody seems to notice. Or suffer.
I never stated there was any evidence of ill effects, I simply stated the fact that any even tiny chance of an ill effect when scaled up to 7 billion people translates into a sizeable risk factor. If you have evidence of how safe it is please post it, and I’ll do the relevant maths for you.
And you may be wrong btw, it turns out low doses of Radiation may well help prevent cancer:
But in the end I don't really care if Fluoride turns me green and makes me indestructible, (as it happens I had fluoride tablets when I was a kid and my teeth turned black and fell out - so go figure!) I just don't want it in my water, period - same as you don't want radiation in your water, and we should both have our preferences respected - end of!
I'm quite happy to go buy toothpaste and get dosed up on Fluoride that way, I don't want or need (in your words) "mad scientists" saving me from myself.
And as it happens there's no such thing as a safe chemical, even water can kill you:
Oh, and please don't insult my intelligence.
I never stated there was any evidence of ill effects, I simply stated the fact that any even tiny chance of an ill effect when scaled up to 7 billion people translates into a sizeable risk factor.
A lot of those 7 billion have a lot more to worry about than fluoride in their water...
Quote from that article
"David Rogers died after drinking too much water during last year's London Marathon"
There's two key words in that sentence that I've emboldened for you.
It's not really necessary for others to do that.
Perhaps we should stop putting water in our water.
After all, I've read worrying reports that much of our so-called "drinking water" is actually sourced from recycled domestic waste water, and since some people admit to occasionally peeing in the shower this means we're all drinking each other's wee...
