I thought it was about time I had a couple of watches, and stopped wearing a tatty G shock digi watch with a suit at work. Not one to do things by half, I ended up with these. The 3 C Ward watches are on their way, two I have bought new and have up to 60 days to decide whether I want to keep them or not. The blue / white US GP C ward is from ebay, but already it's a keeper! I'd love a Chopard mille miglia but it's way out of my budget right now.

This is a Chris Ward C11 HDRC special edition. Although the C11 range is modelled upon the analogue altimeter of a fast jet, this is an autosport themed version, which appeals to me.

I love this C Ward US Grand Prix version from their limited edition GP range. The Astion Martin version is also stunning in my opinion, and has a 25 jewel cosc approved quartz movement

Never owned an automatic watch before, and not sure how I will get on with it! It's another C Ward with the 7750 Valjoux movement.

I just got a cheap digital Casio watch, which I wear all the time.   silenced

Is a Tag showy? I thought it was more mid range than high end.

I would say it is a flash watch, and a nice one too, they are my favourite too, very nice JD.

I was never into them (thought they were, well, a bit flash) but when my twenty quid M&S watch broke Mrs JD went out to buy me a new one.  I thought she might come back with a nice hundred quid one, and she came back with that instead.  That was about 15 years ago I think.  I'd never change it, I think it's distinctly non-showy and understated now.  Unless somebody gave me a Monaco as a present, I suppose.

Wow, nice present.  I regularly have a look at them in Bicester, they have a shop there, prices are not too bad.  I quite like the ones with the rubber straps too.  I have quite looking at them on cruise ships too, one day hopefully.  Smile  Definitely my first choice.

Nice watches (except the one with the blue stripes which looks rather chavvy and cheap), always thought that watches should be bought for you, not by you.

Intriguing how big differences in opinion are. Given its "only" quartz, it's an extremely well specced watch. It's one of a series, same design but diferent colours to celebrate. This is the one to commemorate the win in 1923 at Indianapolis by Tommy Milton.

The "Aston Martin / Brroklands version is especially nive IMO

My £200 watch went in for repair recently so i bought a £9.99 watch from argos which has a plastic strap, but my left arm became sore so i put the watch on my right arm, after a while my wrist started to smell so i was without a watch for a couple of day's, i've not had a plastic strap before & i won't be getting a plastic strap again.

RE: Watches

I absolutely love nice watches, but I'm a bit of a clumsy git so I never usually buy anything expensive. I just have a few 'fashion' watches that look OK.

Premium watches are cheap-ish here (VAT free) and sometimes I feel a little embarrassed when everyone I talk to has an Omeeeeega, but then I damage another cheap watch and see sense.
