Up on sale already..... But only in the US!

I know us Brits are sometimes behind our American cousins when it comes to release dates but I've just noticed that in the iTunes store in the States Up! is the number one download and a search through Amazon confirmed it was available to buy on Blu Ray import.     This seems really odd as it is still showing in our local cinemas - I thought release dates were coming more in line with each other in an attempt to prevent imports and piracy?

Also, a  quick browse of Amazon.com also confirmed my worst fears, we do not seem to be getting Watchmen Ultimate Cut.  If fans what these versions they will find a way either legally or illegally - isn't it in a studios best interest to release globally?
