The Dark Knight Rises- So who's excited?
But I'll miss this while I'm at the cinema! Holy scheduling dilemna, Batman!
Meh, it should be on iplayer around 7pm.
Anyone download their podcasts? Where do you get them and what do you get?
From that webpage and you get the podcast. It's the radio show minus the unimportant bits and plus a few minutes either side where they do a couple of extra bits.
It's Zoe Ball and Kermode this week though.
Heh. The first time I got it late on iplayer I misstook that for th epodcat and was underwhelmed.
Always dissapoints me a bit when Mayo and Kermode are not in together for a big show, which this one surely is, despite it's only being an hour because of damned sport (I expect).
All sport should go to 5 Live Sport Extra.
Last week they spent 45 minutes talking about allegedly racist footballers and Scottish leagues. Chuckled I was not.
Anyway...

Yes, it's the golf this week, I don't know where Mayo is though, he's not at the Golf.
5 Live has a public remit to cover the big events I'm afraid.
Anyway...
That's all taken out of the podcast, it's a pretty good way to listen, I don't get the chance during the day, so I d'l it to my phone before I leave work and listen to it on the way home.
It can (and sadly does) happen anywhere regardless of local gun laws...
Yeah, you're right of course, about all that remit blah. Anyway, i'll download it later this evening.
Due to events in Denver, we will be replaced by a news special this afternoon. However, the podcast will be available as normal later.
Not to mention the idiocy of some reviewers getting death threats
6th seemed quite displeased with the Guardian...
... Because its review plot precis wasn't prefaced with a spoiler alert

Possibly in bad taste right now...
Kermode & Mayo @wittertainment
An update: Today's show will be broadcast at 3.30am on Sunday, and the podcast will be available from 4.30am on Sunday. (Producer Simon)
Podcast decision REVERSED. It will now be available later today. (Producer Simon)
This is getting slightly silly now, although it must be a difficult decision.
Confusing reports at this stage, but looks like people died at one Dark Knight Rises premiere in US - story coming in here.
Blimey, it's really bad - at least 14 dead; 50 injured at a midnight screening. Smoke bombs, random shooting. Appalling...
I'm still sitting here thinking who takes a 3 month old baby to the cinema?
That's terrible! Only if the gun laws were tighter in the US.....
Apparently, there are more guns per person in Canada than America, and they don't seem to suffer these types of tragedies. But, you're right. If this nutball didn't have guns in the first place, they'd be 12 people going home to their families who currently aren't.
I'm not normally a fan of super hero films as it's full of CGI & outrageous stunts but i might actually go to the cinema & watch this batman movie.
Sounds like he dressed up like Bane and then went on a shooting spree.
Just read on the news that the nut case responsible for the shootings told the police he might have explosives in his apartment, but forgot to mention he had it booby trapped. Shocking state of events though.
No doubt there will be a mass outcry about violence in films,tv and games etc and gun control laws. Must admit I have watched many violent tv programs, films and games etc over the years from Tom & Jerry as a kid upto todays latest releases and like most of the population can tell reality from fiction. Sadly though it only takes one mentally unstable individual to cause tragic incidents.
No matter what guns laws are passed in a country you will always be able to buy them on the black market. Guns are not dangerous per se, it is the person behind the trigger you have to worry about. Maybe we should ban religion as well, the number one cause of war over the ages or at least an excuse for war. I mean why stop at violent films?
As for the film itself I am deffinatley looking forward to it, I might even have to go to the cinema and watch it. Can't remember the last time I went to the cinema it has been that long but loved the last two Batman films. Havn't been caught up in all the hype as I have only seen the original trailer, trying to avoid any spoilers etc so i can enjoy the film without knowing 99% before I go in.
