The Dark Knight Rises- So who's excited?
I will take him to see it in Imax 3D next week.
It's a 2D film, not 3D.
Yep, apparently Nolan thought 3d would make the cinematography inconsistent with the first 2 films (good call I think, you can often tell when a films been shot in 3d, even if watching in 2d). 7.30 tomorrow night in Leicester square, roll on tomorrow!
Our very own news ed Joe Cox is seeing it at a screening this evening, look forward to hearing his verdict in the morning...
Trying not to get too caught up in the hype. Made the mistake of building myself up for Prometheus and ended up being underwhelmed to say the least.... Of course, Chris Nolan is way more consistent than Scott, so despite myself I am starting to get a bit excited..
Ditto
Not to mention the idiocy of some reviewers getting death threats
6th seemed quite displeased with the Guardian...
... Because its review plot precis wasn't prefaced with a spoiler alert

I think in the creative process at some level someone realises that making a film 15 that could appeal to a younger audenice immediately shrinks your market.
Taking my dad to see it who rarely watches movies, he said...
" Is Jack Nicholson back in this one?"

yeh sorry been out to the pub. but knew it wasn't 3D, just Imax like the last one dohhh
l have booked to see it early tomorrow morning, on my own, before my meetings.
With the hope that its suitable for my 8yr old son (see good excuse checking it out, responsible parent Ha) and then if its no more violient than the last one / not too many swear words, I will take him to see it in Imax 3D next week.
12A means its upto the adult to decide if it is suitbale for an under 12, right.
165 min film and an 8 year old? you're brave!
Yeah he is pretty good. He even managed to watch the full boring England game against Italy including the penalties.
Confusing reports at this stage, but looks like people died at one Dark Knight Rises premiere in US - story coming in here.
I'm going in a couple of hours!!! Unreasonably excited despite mixed reviews and th einevitable franchise backlash and "but he's not Heath Ledger's Joker waaaahhhh waaaaaaahhhh".
I think someone said on here a while back that there is no longer a Coventry imax, but there is a Birmingham one, on Curzon Street yeah (maaan)?

But I'll miss this while I'm at the cinema! Holy scheduling dilemna, Batman!
Meh, it should be on iplayer around 7pm.
Anyone download their podcasts? Where do you get them and what do you get?

From that webpage and you get the podcast. It's the radio show minus the unimportant bits and plus a few minutes either side where they do a couple of extra bits.
It's Zoe Ball and Kermode this week though.

Blimey, it's really bad - at least 14 dead; 50 injured at a midnight screening. Smoke bombs, random shooting. Appalling...

No word on motive yet I guess? Got News 24 on, nothing yet.
EDIT - and just as I typed that...
