The Dark Knight Rises - Brilliant film!!! (Spoiler alert)
And it could be considered quite patronising (though I'm sure you didn't mean to be) to suggest that detractors of Inception didn't understand it.
Depends on how you look at it. I found strapped for cash's comments I have quoted above to be quite patronising.
I'm not trolling, honest (pick a popular filmmaker or other figure and invite fury).
Unfortunately, this is exactly what you've ended up doing, commenting on a film (which this thread is about) without actually having watched it.
That's got nothing to do with it, he said a long while ago TDKR would be his last Batman film.
Firstly, I didn't know he said that some time ago.
Do some research then.
No, I think it's HIS opinion, the only one that matters at any rate.
"Oh, boo-hoo, somebody contradicted me with a FACT that invalidates my vague musings, so rather than just accept the new information and forget about it, I'll go on the attack in a feeble effort to justify my right to talk nonsense."
I EDITED hate this place now, so much pettiness, it's pathetic.
they're only words on a screen, man.

Well at least you managed to avoid being petty and pathetic back, kudos for being the bigger man.
I'm sure you've told a few people recently it's very odd to hang out somewhere you don't like.

Aye. The show off quotient has also risen a lttle too much. I just thought Inception was rubbish, bb, but thanks for condescending to me once more.

Really? Where?? I merely said that strapped for cash's post appeared patronising instead of mine. That's all.
I also don't understand what do you mean by "show off quotient". If that's related to my explanation of Inception, be aware that the explanation was meant for strapped for cash, as it appears that even he has studied Psychology.
Have you quoted the wrong post by mistake? You've quoted BenLaw's post but it appears that post was meant for me.
Indeed, I found Inception the most tedious film Nolan's been involved with.
Anyone that's studied psychology 101 would consider this one of the most laughable efforts at pop psychology ever commited to script. And for the record, it's "unconscious" rather than "subconscious..."
I studied Psychology as part of my training. I thought Inception was based around Carl Gustav Jung's seven major archetypal characters. The entire film might actually just be Dom Cobb's dream and that all of the main characters in it were just different segments of himself that had to concoct an elaborate mission just so he could reach some level of catharsis within himself. When the mission was completed, he was finally able to confront his demons and he was granted the clarity to finally see his children's faces in the end because his guilt had finally been resolved amongst his archetypes.
Of course, there will be disagreements amongst people as to how they view the film. Even Carl Gustav Jung had his disagreements with Sigmund Freud.
That's what I mean. I mean, I'm terribly impressed that you have taken a course and remembered some of it, but I just didn't like the film. I'm sorry if I'm going off the deep end a bit, but you can't write a post like that without expecting the kind of response you got.

May I refer you to my post above. That was meant for strapped for cash & not you. Why can't I have a conversation on Psychology with someone knowledgeable on the subject? I have no idea why you should feel so offended by it. I never challenged your dislike for the film, did I?
I have also clearly stated at the end that there will be disagreements which is fine.
I have no idea why people are getting so worked up in the last 2 days. Even plain sentences are being miscontrued.
Aye, fair dos, sorry.
TTFN.

I blame the hot weather we are not used to.

No offence taken.
