The Dark Knight Rises - Brilliant film!!! (Spoiler alert)
Just got it for £13.46 at Zavvi with 10% voucher code. Beat that anyone

£15.00 from Amazon with a preorder guarantee (if the price drops you get the lower price, but I bet - though don't know - that a few places do that).
The cover looks familiar to me, like I've seen it on one of the other films, but is that just over familiarity?
What's a UV copy?

Wait for Tesco to come up with its famous 15% off pre-orders offer (which it does very often) & go through Quidco for further 8% cash back!
Not surprised. Birmingham millennium point was an IMAX screen previously, now it's just a regular cinema with a giant screen. The Dark Knight shown there is not the IMAX film, but downscaled first to allow regular screens to play it, & then re-upscaled to fit the giant Birmingham screen. Picture quality is bound to suffer.
How do you know this? I thought it was the same 4k2k print as any multiplex would use. E.g. transformers 2 at my cineworld was astounding. I expected dark knight to be as good. Not so.

More than an hour of The Dark Knight Rises was shot with a dedicated IMAX camera & needs an IMAX projector to show off its full benefits (70mm). This is unlike 35mm used by other films & released in multiplexes, 4K or not.

Oooo that does sound good, can you give us a heads-up if you see it running.
Cheers.

Yeah I think the cover looks like one of the many posters that went about for it.

Also, check this from another thread:
Technically, despite the Epic being a 5K camera, it will actually only output around a 4.25K image once debayered and most films are now mastered to 4K resolution, i.e approx. the same resolution as a good scan of a film shot on traditional 35mm. IMAX film, however is 70mm and thus has way more actual resolution than the '5K' Epic can actually put out, let alone the 4K master from which the IMAX version will be printed from.
Basically, Prometheus should look no better (or worse) than a standard movie blown up to fit on a 'proper' IMAX screen, whereas the Dark Knight Rises will look much better due to the huge amount of resolution available from 70mm film. In practise the lack of grain present and the fact that it has been kept in the digital domain throughout the production process might mean it looks a *bit* better, and it will indeed look stunning on an IMAX screen I'm sure, but just don't go along expecting the same level of 'wow' as you'll get from a 70mm IMAX print.
Hope that helps!
Just seen Sainsburys doing the trilogy on Blu-ray for £24.99!
For those who are interested, I received the email today saying it's now available to pre-order on Play.com.
Cheapest I've seen is Zavvi at £14.95, can anyone better please?
Personally I would wait either for the price drop (3-4 months probably for such a popular title) or better still for the inevitable trilogy box set.
Yep, £14.95 is a tad expensive. Trilogy available for £28.95, problem is I have the first two. I can seen the price dropping to around £12.99 or someone mind find a code for some place. The hunt is on!

Ah right, wasn't aware the trilogy was already around. I'm a sucker for boxsets tho! Again, will wait for the price to come down, I only saw DKR a few weeks ago, so not in any rush to get the blu ray.
£13.99 at Blockbuster.
I might flog my BB and TDK and get the trilogy set.
