After buying a Skunk Anansie album today, the 90s for me has to be one of the best:

Carter USM, The Eels, Blur, Radiohead (The Bends album), Hootie and the Blowfish, Nirvana, The Manics, Suede, Corner Shop, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Soundgarden, Jeff Buckley...

Let's not forget the established acts: R.E.M. , Crowded House, Green Day, Roachford, Kravitz, Costello...(could go on all night, can't be that cruel).

Tell me if I'm wrong but there's few decades that beats the 90s. Yes, it is a personal view but...

For very different reasons (synths, mainly) I agree, definitely the 80s.

Your list has (at least) three catastrophic omissions, for example:

one

two

three

Tongue

They were the ones that rolled off the grey matter at the time of posting.

BTW, wasn't keen on Portishead. Most of my family (on my mum's side) come from Bristol. Portishead? nah...

I might get shot down for this post but please don't be offended. I'm a big fan of 60s-90s music but nobody has mentioned the 00s and there has been a lot of huge talent:

Muse, Kasabian, Arcade Fire, Radiohead (Kid A), The White Stripes, The Strokes, Amy Winehouse, Bon Iver, The Shins and Eminem to name a few.

Not saying it's my favourite decade, just rooting for the underdog Wink
