Th avatar conundrum!

Many? I'd have said everyone, up until now, I'd be fascinated to know how Igglebert manages it, it doesn't seem to be browser specific.
I had to email my original avatar to be uploaded at whf?'s end,but can now change it at will, with no problems...

The missus has seen it and she wasn't overly complimentary about it. Doesn't really appeal to me.
What browser do you use and do you link to a local file or a web-based one?

Ah ok, that's interesting, I've never tried changing mine since. Anyway, so my point still applies to, err, whoever it was who was complaining then I guess.
Firefox and I upload a file from my desktop. The files I use tend to be pretty small.
They often take a few minutes to upload.
To keep the mystery interesting, I uploaded my first avatar too.
igglebert:That's not true the_lhc. I've only ever changed my avatar by using the profile settings and I've done it a few times over the last three or so years, including a couple of days ago.
Now I can't remember (and haven't got the time to go through it right now), but it may be the case that once you have an avatar you an change it - either that or it works if you use a link to a picture on the internet as opposed to an upload...

My new Avatar shows my missus before she puts make-up on.

oh, p.s. I've never had a problem with my avatars. And I think it would be really nice if Plastic Penguin got an avatar, he's been around (the forum) for ages without one.
