Well according to a poll on the BBC, that's the most misheard lyric in songs.
Personally, I find this hard to believe. Surely people were pulling the pollsters legs?

Desmond Dekker was always the No. 1 most misheard song when I was young - I can understand how it's not now as it's quite an old song, but just surprised that Annie was up there a number one with a song from the 80s. Says something about Spotify's clientele (and quality...)

In the Metallica song Of Wolf And Men he sings "shape shift". I thought he was singing sheep shi...er, rhyymes with "sit". Indeed, you only need to add a letter to the word "sit".

In Madonna's "La Isla Bonita", I always thought the first line sounded like "Last night I dreamt of some dagoes", and a later line sounded like "Young girl with eyes like potatoes".
I realise that one of those words has racial overtones, I hope I haven't offended anyone, I'm just repeating what I thought I heard, and it's not a term I would ever use.
Cranberries "Zombie" actually sounds like she is repeating "Tarby", a tribute to the not very funny, golf playing scouse comic.
A friend always thought it was "Dress you up in nylon" by Madonna, and another friend used to sing "Petula Clark" at the beginning of Wham's "Wake me up before you go go"

The other one is The Jam and That's Entertainment. The lines that goes "Feeding ducks at the park", on the original recording it sounds like "Feeding ducks to the park". Still makes me chuckle now.

I turned on BBC3 to see T in the Park last night when I heard the announcer say that Jason Statham was headlining. I didn't know he sang too. It turned out to be two blokes called "chase and status"...
