Should Liverpool sack Roy Hodgson?
Strangely, I didn't see that one. No really, I didn't.
But Neville's was a red all day long. Twice this season he should have been redded and hasn't.
Even Mr Blinkers Ferguson said he should have been redded against Stoke.
These are the decisions that the Mancs have based their success on.
I heard that ref Steve Bennett got a Premier league winning medal, AND player of the year 2 seasons ago![]()
i think he said it was a pen today to,gary has been a good player for club and country but sadly for him his legs have gone.
Which is a valid point against the argument that LFC don't have lots of world class players.
Look at the Mancs. Lots of dross, but still win games regularly.
Neville / Brown / O'Shea / Fletcher / Carrick / The Harpo Marx twins
amongst others, are all very short of world class

plastic penguin:True Blue:So managerial genius then, bring on Cole and he scores........................This is the problem: If Liverpool were 3rd or 4th from top everyone (the doubting Thomases) would be hailing Hodgson as an excellent manager. Hodgson should be judged by an "end of term" appraisal, and not perceived now as the "wrong" manager - it can take a long time to adapt to a different philosophy. Sacking a manager isn't the answer - unless, of course, you have a team full of world class players. Sadly, Liverpool don't.
But we're not 3rd or 4th, so you're argument isn't valid.
And we have several world class players, and many more full internationals for excellent international sides.
Once again I'll say it, the only poor players we have were bought by Hodgson.
You're missing the point: I was responding to the fact that Joe Cole came on as a late sub and scored the winner, people saying "good decision". If Cole had come on and Liverpool had lost people would of said: "Out, out!!"
TBVH I don't know whether Hodgson is the right manager or, metaphorically speaking, a white elephant. All I do know - and this is so typical with modern football - is judging him now (and some have verbally laid into him) is soooooo premature.
Managers/coaches certainly earn their corn, far more than the players. Heroes to zeros and vice-versa...

You're right about Joe Cole, though I was never convinced, as I knew he only came so he could play behind the striker, and he's failed.
Blimey, who scored your winner again??
Off side apparently though, lucky break for you guys
Can't see him being sacked now, must have given himself another match at least.
Off side Gel? Who? They never said anything on the radio.
I'll watch the highlights later.
Not quite the luck of the Mancs though, flooring a guy when he's one on one with the keeper, and no pen or red.
Now that's real luck, the kind of luck that only money can buy
Joe Cole apparently according to soccer saturday.
Yep that was a definite pen
Actually Le Tissier said it. Cole could have been a yard on and MLT would claim the opposite. He hates the Reds.
My opinion hasn't changed PP. Joe Cole wasn't a good decision, it was a bit of luck that based on our 2nd half performance, we probably deserved.
Liverpool's real supporters are not so fickle as to change their minds after one result-I hope not anyway
We were behind the team because we know we have to support the team whoever the manager is.
No team is too good to go down, so 3 points were vital
The LFC fans only got at Hodgson against Wolves because we were 1 - 0 down to the bottom of the league team, and he replaced a striker with a striker and we had 2 wide midfielders who are not wide midfielders. They, as I believed that a more positive approach was needed. There was no booing or negative chanting before that decision.

I see your point PP. However, Cole was on the bench, we were drawing at home, and there was nothing else to do but put him on. For once, it looks like a good managerial decision.
Managers do get the sack too quickly sometimes but they have a strange job. They earn £20k + a week, get sacked and get a big pay day compensation. And then, they get another job!! How many of us could get sacked for not doing our job properly and then have loads of employers wanting to hire us?!
I've always supported LFC managers. I didn't like Houllier but I never said anything bad about him. I liked Hodgson, watching him as a pundit. I really don't like him now. I don't like the way he has carried himself. He has made at least two public apologies this season already. He doesn't seem to understand the club/fans/people of Liverpool. I honestly feel that we would be better off getting KK and Sammy Lee to run things until the Summer. Commolli will be making all the transfer decisions - Hodgson is effectively a coach who picks the side.
Hopefully Comolli will have a major say in buying decisions, then Hodgson might just resign if players are being bought that he doesn't like ie. young players with huge talent

I expected a few nibbles from this, maybe I should be more patient
Count yourself lucky you can
a: Name a full bench, three outfield players and a keeper is all we could manage ![]()
b: Your manager can play who he wants on merit, not whether any more appearances will trigger a contract claus FFS ![]()
Well and truely beaten by a good side in form.
I was just thinking of you.
I won't complain again ![]()
BIGBERNARDBRESSLAW:I'll watch it later Gel, and let you know what I think.
If it's clear, then a bit of luck it is. But I never get the complaints about fractional offsides in a game that is played so quickly.
It's not physically possible to get some of these decisions correct.
If a player plays a 100 yard ball, the linesman has to be looking at him at the time the ball has been played, so when he turns his head to see the line of play, some of these players at top speed could have moved 2-3 yards. And if the defence is moving up at a similar rate, that's 4 - 6 yards differential, so therefore impossible to make the correct decision.
So then the batsman comes in, replacing the one who has just come in, who is out, and........
Sorry, getting confused. What we were taking about?
The dodgy off side rule that does not work any more (i think) ![]()
