Should Liverpool sack Roy Hodgson?
Could be. I would say more luck, like most last 5 mins decisions by any manager
My point to all this is be happy you are in the PL, you are having a dip in form. No club is too "big" to go down. But you are relatively stable mid table. My god I wish my team (Portsmouth) could do that. Still we stay till the end applaud our team and manager regardless.
I excpect a few West Ham fans would like to have your "rubbish" season.
Well done, you have been reading properly ![]()
I still think the Joe Cole playing behind the striker experiment has failed, one 6 yard tap in doesn't change that.
As I've just said, luck is a big part of this game

Blimey the guy cant win. Also I thought he came on after 82 minutes and scored in the 92nd. Not 5 minutes, if you have a 10 minute super sub on your bench be grateful. Its also obvious the Hodgsen can motivate the players. Perhaps the "superstars" were throwing their dollies out because he wasnt a "big enough" manager for their overinflated ego's

Ok. 10 mins. But that's the 1st time he has motivated them all season, and only because his job is very much on the line.
I'm happy. We won, and in the 2nd half we played reasonably well.
But if you read what we have been saying, you will note that we were saying that Poulsen and Konchesky were poor buys. Today we won without these 2 players being on the pitch.
He does seem to be listening to some of the criticims, but still makes strange decisions
Indeed, but thats the position he is in. Wouldnt it be interesting to see if we could make better decisions if we knew our every move was going to be villafied, and our job security was as good as our last few results.
For all we know some of the players could be cocky little S****s and they are thorwing the toys out the same way children do with a supply teacher. I doubt very much that konchesky was brought in purely for football reasons, a friend in the dressing room??
Again, sacking him now will do no good for the club. He needs people to be on side and let him manage his way. You will get the results, come on you are now in the top half of the table, something many other clubs can never manage.

gel:Joe Cole was suppose to be a "fantastic" signing the Liverpool fans were saying at the start of the season - what has he done?
You're right about Joe Cole, though I was never convinced, as I knew he only came so he could play behind the striker, and he's failed.
Blimey, who scored your winner again??
Off side apparently though, lucky break for you guys ![]()
Can't see him being sacked now, must have given himself another match at least.
Thought you'd gone quiet, but I see Pompey are playing in 5 , sorry 10 minutes

Off side Gel? Who? They never said anything on the radio.
I'll watch the highlights later.
Not quite the luck of the Mancs though, flooring a guy when he's one on one with the keeper, and no pen or red.
Now that's real luck, the kind of luck that only money can buy ![]()

Joe Cole apparently according to soccer saturday.
Yep that was a definite pen ![]()
I'll watch it later Gel, and let you know what I think.
If it's clear, then a bit of luck it is. But I never get the complaints about fractional offsides in a game that is played so quickly.
It's not physically possible to get some of these decisions correct.
If a player plays a 100 yard ball, the linesman has to be looking at him at the time the ball has been played, so when he turns his head to see the line of play, some of these players at top speed could have moved 2-3 yards. And if the defence is moving up at a similar rate, that's 4 - 6 yards differential, so therefore impossible to make the correct decision.
So then the batsman comes in, replacing the one who has just come in, who is out, and........
Sorry, getting confused. What we were taking about? ![]()
True Blue:So managerial genius then, bring on Cole and he scores........................
This is the problem: If Liverpool were 3rd or 4th from top everyone (the doubting Thomases) would be hailing Hodgson as an excellent manager. Hodgson should be judged by an "end of term" appraisal, and not perceived now as the "wrong" manager - it can take a long time to adapt to a different philosophy. Sacking a manager isn't the answer - unless, of course, you have a team full of world class players. Sadly, Liverpool don't.

But we're not 3rd or 4th, so you're argument isn't valid.
And we have several world class players, and many more full internationals for excellent international sides.
Once again I'll say it, the only poor players we have were bought by Hodgson.

Blimey, who scored your winner again??
