If you can stretch a little further go for a Laco 1925 or Augsberg. Basic models come with a japanese Myota auto movement and are around £230. They have more history tahn your average watch. Laco, along with IWC and Stowa were licensed manufacturers of the luftwaffe pilot watches.

Thanks guys, will do some more research tonight.
I have one, my ex colleagues bought it for me as a leaving present a couple of years back. Came from John Lewis. Tried to find a picture but couldnt. Its a brushed steel colour with a black face, quite non rescript really, no extra dials or anything as I have weedy wrists. It is an excellent watch though, keeps perfect time
I've had an eco-drive for 15+ years, it is my everyday summer watch. It has always worked flawlessly with exceptionally good water-resistance, important because I'm often in the sea in summer.
Apple Lossless - ATV3 - AVI ADM 40 also ATV3 into AVI ADM 9T [my wife's system]
and Grado SR80i
I have an Eco as my everyday work watch, sadly it doesn't have a very scratch resistant face, other than that it's fine but boring and keeps very good time.
