Provovative whiffs
Mrs. P and I were chatting and a neighbour was cutting his lawn. The subject turned to favourites smells and freshly cut grass was one. My other is going into a ironmongers and the smell of chopped wood. Takes me back to happy days at school (few and far between) and woodwork lessons.
Is there any particular smell that takes you back to a family holiday abroad or a special meal...? Or just the everyday odours of cooking?
Did you mean 'evocative'?
Or 'skiffs'?
I suddenly fancy a fairy cake dunked in tea. I don't know why. I must try and find out...
Did you mean 'evocative'?
Yup. Some people have a 'bad hair day', I'm suffering from spell-block.
Petrichor
I have never been in an iron mongers.
Home baked bread is the one for me...........
Fresh bread, petrol, spray paint they used to use on cars (probably lead based!), bonfires and BBQ's, and Indian curries (doesn't help working next to one!).
I have never been in an iron mongers.
Have you been in an Ironmongers then ?
I like the smell of shoe/boot polish , all the one's Frank mentions and cut grass as well
'The smell of napalm in the morning'
Sun tan lotion - reminds me of being on holiday!
creosote
The slightly burnt electrical smell of Scalextric
The smell of the sea
Hot dog van at football match.
