Does anyone know what happens if you say use a 13 amp fuse when you ought to be using a 10 amp one?

Don't ever be tempted to do this.
The fuse rating is there for a reason, which is to stop major problems should a fault develop in whatever the fuse is meant to protect.

if everything works fine.
but if you have a fault it will not blow at the level it should and could cause damage to your electrical item(
