People, Hell & Angels by Jimi Hendrix

When I first heard about this 'new' album of previously unreleased Hendrix material, I was scepical but determined to give it a go. As much as I want to, I can't like it and keep going back to my long held view that there is usually a reason why such stuff was never released when the artist was alive (or in their prime) - because it wasn't good enough then and, probably, still isn't. That said, a lot of the music press who are supposed to know more than me about music in general and guitar playing in particular seem to like it - a touch of the emperors new clothes perhaps or am I just plain wrong??
Any views?
