Hello all.

Rather than buying every HD-DVD or Blu-Ray disc out there that I "think will look really good" , and being underwhelmed by the quality some of the transfers, I have decided to go down the route of renting them out first.

I used to be with Blockbuster, but just wanted to know if anyone has any good recommendations of other such sites before I sign up again.

There's a site somewhere that compares all available, I'll try to dig it out.

Here you go:

Thanks for that. I found the link helpful. I am going to go back to Blockbuster.

I use Amazons rental service, it's very good. and has just merged with love film so i'm hoping that will make it even better.

I use LoveFilm - as I prepay, the monthly costs are really low, and i've found it an excellent service. Certainly worth it for all those Blu-ray movies I want to enjoy but not own. Until HD discs start getting cheaper, i'll be using it a lot!

I left lovefilm for Amazon because they were SO poor at sending me what I actually wanted at the top of my list. Amozon has been amazing; always got what I wanted straight off so far. So personally, I'm gutted they're moving to Lovefilm! Hopefully the merge includes the Amazon stock so Lovefilm will actually get better!!

Agree with the points about renting HD DVDs; it has been very useful. If only HD had been around when Waterworld was released; it may not have bombed quite so much Wink
