Why? What's the point of that? How does it help you in any way? It holds only as long as you get evidence of a persons personality (ie you meet them), so it's actually no different to holding no default regard for anyone. You don't require a default high regard for people in order to be polite or pleasant to someone when you first meet them. Just seems odd that anyone would bother holding a default view of such a large group when there's no practical use for it when meeting individuals.

LHC why are you just so frequently argumentative about things that probably shouldn't ruffle anyone's feathers? To throw your own questions back at you: Why? What's the point of that? What do you get from it in any way? And out of interest, how many of your 9,654 posts have ever included the words 'I agree'?

I thought the content of the forums on WHF might actually be related to home entertainment systems, sound and vision etc. and not politics. WHF really need to decide what to do with these forums as overall it's pretty patchy experience using them and I personally don't get much value from them.

The Government is only going to pick a fight with the helpless because they can't afford to 'lawyer up' like non tax paying corporations who can spend spend £millions defending their £billions.

The big multi-nationals can also threaten to take their business (and jobs) elsewhere if they are told to pay tax.

Brass plaques on little offices (with a secretary and a non-listed phone) in places like the Dutch Antilles save global corporations  a fortune in tax if they are incorporated as an NA BV. Corporations also engage in 'jurisdiction shopping' so they can choose the legal system under which any liabilty is exercised.

They don't need to be a minister's friend to get the largesse. Governments are small fry to these entities.

Why do you think I'm arguing? I think I'm having a discussion.

I don't understand your thought process in saying you hold a default high regard for groups, so I'm hoping you'll explain it, as I'm curious. The idea doesn't seem to make much sense to me, so I'd be interested to know the thought processes that are behind it.

About 12 I think, but then I don't tend to reply to posts just to say "I agree" as it's almost completely pointless.

Notwithstanding the fact that this is, as Chebby says, Off Topic and Miscellaneous (where anything goes, more or less), patchy how?

What Chebby said, as it bares repeating.

I don't think I am able to explain them. Sorry. It must just be the way I 'tick' as a person.

Fair enough, if making 9,642 argumentative posts - sorry,  posts containing discussion -  is your concept of constructive writing. It's not mine. So I guess we're just never going to agree.  I'll leave it at that.

That's a bit of leap, just because a post doesn't contain an agreement with another poster that doesn't make it a disagreement, it could just be an original thought unconnected with any previous poster's views. There has to be, oooh, at least 4 or 5 of those in that number as well...
